Leveraging our experience in both information technology and language education, Epiphonema Systems provides instruction, content, and systems to ESL students, tutors, and teachers, to both facilitate learning efforts in traditional, rubric-based instructional environments as well as provide innovative tools and techniques for learning more effectively and efficiently.
Over the course of working with hundreds of adult students in thousands of sessions, we have developed a methodology based on a foundation of strong pronunciation followed by an iterative process of failure-driven learning. However, because this methodology is intended for people actually attempting to learn English, not those who are attempting to do well on a test of their English, the entire process is quite different from the method of instruction and study familiar to most students.
In order to introduce our concepts to both students and teachers, in addition to creating the resources necessary for our process, we will also offer and promote ways in which our instruction and resources can be integrated into a more traditional effort. In addition to direct efforts, this will also involve a significant effort to educate and assist the Covid-compelled increasing number of online tutors in the US.
